Since the beginning of 2022, the population of Tashkent has increased by 17,400 people up to 6%, the press service of the Department of Statistics of Uzbekistan reports.
To date, 2,879,800 people live permanently in the capital of the republic, of which 1.411 mln are men and 1.468 mln - women.
The most densely populated district of Tashkent is Almazarskiy, where 387,700 people live - 13.5% of the city's residents.
