Tbilisi City Court found Saakashvili guilty of organizing attack on Valeri Gelashvili

Tbilisi City Court has found ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili guilty of exceeding official authorities in beating up then opposition MP Valeri Gelashvili, who was severely beaten up by masked, armed men in Tbilisi in 2005. The ex-president was found guilty of exceeding official authorities with use of violence as well as of organizing intentional damage to health and sentenced him to 6 years of imprisonment, InterPressNews reported. 

Mikheil Saakashvili was banned from holding public office for 2 years and 3 months.
