Tbilisi Zoo to be moved

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said that Tbilisi Zoo will be replaced by a recreation park. The zoo will be moved to an area near a water reservoir, according to Tbilisi Mayor Davit Narmania. Bidzina Ivanishvili, Georgian billionaire and former prime minister, expressed readiness to help build the zoo, Interfax reports.
Tbilisi Zoo suffered from the flood of June 14. Over half of its animals, including lions, tigers, bears, wolves and other animals drowned or were shot by law enforcers. Three zookeepers died in the flood.
