The Tbilisi City Hall has launched a project to clean the Mtkvari River yesterday.
All waste, plastic bottles and packages will be taken out of the river near the Metekhi Bridge.
“We were instructed [to do so] by the Tbilisi mayor,” official from Tbilservice Group Davit Dolidze said.
He has also added that similar work was also conducted in previous years, Agenda.ge reported.
The Kura is the largest river in Transcaucasia, it begins in Turkey and flows through Georgia and Azerbaijan to enter the Caspian Sea.
