First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia and Minister of Energy, Kakha Kaladze, denied the rumors that the Abkhazian railway can be resumed as an alternative to the checkpoint 'Kazbegi - Verkhny Lars' on the border with Russia.
Kaladze said that this topic has not been even discussed.
The rumor about the opening of the Abkhazian railway has been raised after the meeting held between the Georgian and Armenian Prime Ministers. After the meeting, the Armenia Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said that they have discussed an alternative way with the Georgian counterpart.
“I hear it for the first time. The information is not correct. There was no discussion in the government regarding this particular project," Kaladze stressed.
