Today, on the stage of the renewed Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Zachary Paliashvili in Tbilisi, a concert of the world famous Latvian violinist Gidon Kremer will be held. The winner of the Grammy Award will perform works by the legendary Georgian composer Gia Kancheli.
Kremer will perform together with Latvian violusr Giedre Dirvanauskayte. The musicians will be accompanied by a young Georgian violist Giorgi Tsagareli, a children's choir of the city of Gori (Shida Kartli) and the Georgian National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Nikoloz Rachveli.
According to the organizers of the concert, the famous virtuoso violinist himself expressed the desire to perform the music of Gia Kancheli on the occasion of the birthday of the composer. Kremer has repeatedly performed the works of Kancheli. In his turn, the outstanding Georgian composer wrote works specifically for Kremer, Sputnik Georgia reports.
