The cooperation between Moscow and Tehran on Syria does not cause difficulties, the parties have common interests. This also applies to the use of the Hamadan base, the Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanai said.
"In general, Iran and Russia are working closely on the Syrian issue. Now there are no serious problems here," Sanai said.
He noted that "regular consultations on the Syrian settlement between Iran and Russia on different levels are underway."
Sanai stressed that the two countries' deputy ministers have met personally and repeatedly discussed the issues of cooperation on Syria in a telephone conversation, therefore, Iran and Russia are in constant contact, RIA Novosti reports.
For the first time the Russian air force used the Iranian Hamadan airport to carry out air strikes against ISIL and Jabhat al-Nusrah targets in mid-August.
