Tehran has directed an official notification to the IAEA about the fact that the authorities proceed to use an extra protocol to safeguard the agreement. The corresponding message was distributed on behalf of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Yukiya Amano.
"On October 18th the Director General was informed by Iran that Tehran will begin to use an extra protocol to its safeguard agreement without waiting for its ratification by the Majlis, and will also fully implement the modified Code 3.1," TASS cited the message.
