Two PKK terrorists were detained as a result of a special operation in Turkey's Mardin province, located in the country's east, Trend reports via Turkish media.

Report noted that the detainees planned terror attacks in several areas of the province.

During the interrogation, it turned out that they had been trained in PKK camps in Iraq's north.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has been lasting around 40 years, claiming more than 40,000 lives. The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by the UN and the EU.
