‘The Boy with a Book’ returns to museum of Chechnya

A painting ‘The Boy with a Book’, painted by the Russian painter Vasily Tropinin in 19th century,  was returned to the National Museum of Chechnya, .

It is known that the portrait of a boy with a book was created in1825, and 100 years later it was presented to the Chechen-Ingush regional museum, but during the clashes in the 90-ies of 20th century, the painting was stolen.

After the police discovered it in 2008 in Moscow, the portrait of a boy was deposited in the Museum-Estate ‘Ostankino’.
