US withdraws Patriot missiles from Turkey, mass media report

The United States has begun withdrawing Patriot air defense missile systems from Turkey. Combat units with elements of the systems are on their way to the province of Hatay in order to be loaded onto US ships, BGN News reports with a reference to its sources.

According to the available information, Turkey has asked the NATO command to extend the deadline for deployment of the Patriot air defense systems in the country for one year.
