The Ombudsman of Georgia, Ucha Nanuashvili, in his report 'The state of human rights and freedoms in 2015', complained about the lack of progress in the de-politicization of the activities of the Prosecutor General's Office.
"Reform of the system of the Prosecutor General's Office, which would improve the guarantees of the independence of the Prosecutor General's Office, is welcomed. However, there are still a number of challenges, which, unfortunately, were not taken into account in the reform, including rules for assembly of the Prosecutorial Council and in the direction of maximum de-politicization of the Prosecutor General's Office," Sputnik Georgia cites the document.
