Three soldiers of the Azerbaijani armed forces were killed in nighttime fights, the head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, Vagif Dargahli, said.

"During the night the situation on the contact line deteriorated again. As a result of the fighting, the Armenian side suffered numerous losses in manpower and military equipment. Three servicemen died," Dargahli said.

“Despite the fact that this morning the situation stabilized, the enemy renewed shelling of our positions using heavy artillery again, including settlements in Azerbaijan’s Aghdere, Khojavand, Aghdam and Terter districts. The Azerbaijani armed forces returned fire at the enemy,” he said.

According to the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan, the Armenian side broke the ceasefire with Azerbaijan 121 times in the last 24 hours. The Azerbaijani armed forces carried out 125 strikes on Armenian positions in response.

"According to the latest information, we didn’t lose any positions and the Azerbaijani armed forces fully control the operational situation," Vagif Dyargahli added.

The Azerbaijani military expert Uzeir Jafarov said in an interview with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza that the preservation of the complex situation on the contact line. At the same time, the settlements of Seysulan and Talysh, as well as the height of strategic importance 'Lyalya Tepe', are controlled by the Azerbaijani army," he said.

Of course, the Azerbaijani side cannot ignore this, I think that today the fighting will continue and the number of dead may rise. There have been three dead soldiers and several wounded on the Azerbaijani side in the last few hours," Uzeir Jafarov noted.

Recall, on the night of April 2 all frontier positions of Azerbaijan were exposed to heavy fire from large-caliber weapons, mortars, grenade launchers and guns. In addition, Azerbaijani settlements near the front line, densely populated by civilians, were shelled.
