Employees of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia have detained three previously-convicted citizens on suspicion of counterfeiting.
"At this stage of the investigation instances of 222 counterfeit 20-Lari banknotes being sold by Alexander Demetrashvili, Mariam Basharauli and George Chubinidze have been confirmed. During a search of the home of the accused, technical devices for the production of counterfeit banknotes were also removed. The defendants face imprisonment for a term of 7 to 10 years,’’ Georgia Online quotes the Post Office.
