According to Tbilisi Deputy Mayor Giorgi Tkemaladze, the Georgian capital will expand its public transportation network with cable cars connecting key districts: Isani to Vazisubani, Sarajishvili to Zgvisubani, and Samgori metro station to Vazisubani.

"These three routes will make life easier for local residents in terms of public transportation. Furthermore, the development of the aforementioned cable car corridor is indirectly related to the reduction of congestion on buses and minibuses",

Deputy Mayor Giorgi Tkemaladze stated.

The project is scheduled for implementation within the next few years.

Tbilisi currently operates two cable car lines—Rike Park to Narikala Fortress and Vake Park to Turtle Lake—along with a funicular to Mount Mtatsminda.
