The press service of the Uzbek Supreme Court reported that in Tashkent, three residents of Uzbekistan were sentenced to imprisonment for participation in terrorist activities as part of one of the banned organizations.

According to investigators, the militants were convicted of terrorism, encroachment on the constitutional order of Uzbekistan and training in order to organize terrorist acts. All three were sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The court found that under the influence of other terrorists, the convicts went to Syria in 2019, where they fought in the ranks of the Katibat al-Tawhid wal-Jihad organization banned in the Russian Federation. Last year, their activities were stopped, and the terrorists were detained and sent to Uzbekistan.
