The Head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Tkachev, said that the government has authorized Rosselkhoznadzor to strengthen control over agricultural products and foods supplies from Turkey and organize additional checks on the border and at production sites in Turkey.
These assignments are based on "repeated violations of Russian standards by Turkish producers," the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture cited Tkachev as saying.
"I informed the government of the Russian Federation that about 15% of Turkish agricultural products on average do not meet Russian standards," he said.
