Today is a celebration of gymnastics at the First European Games in Baku. Russia has become a victor, as Russian gymnasts won 11 out of 16 gold medals in various types of exercises.
In rhythmic gymnastics Russians Margarita Mamun and Jana Kudryavtseva won gold medals in all four exercises. Margarita Mamun, performing an exercise with hoop, received 18.85 points and won gold (9.35 and 9.5 for the complexity of the exercise). Yana Kudryavtseva received the highest scores in the exercises with a ball (18.95 points – 9.4 and 9.55 for the complexity of the exercise), with maces (19.2 points – 9.6 and 9.6 for the complexity of the exercise) and tape (19 points – 9 points for complexity and performance).
Another gold in rhythmic gymnastics was won by Anastasia Maximova, Sophia Skomorokh, Tatareva Anastasia, Maria Tolkacheva and Diana Borisova, who scored 18 points in the exercises with five ribbons.
