Tourist stranded in Georgia’s west rescued

Georgian rescuers saved an injured tourist stranded near Katitsvera Peak in the Oni municipality of the western Georgian region of Racha, the Emergency Management Service said on Wednesday.

The foreign citizen was transferred to a hospital in the western city of Kutaisi after requesting help through the 112 emergency service.

The Service said the injured tourist had been stranded in an area without road access, with emergency response professionals extracting them to the Kutaisi hospital using a border police helicopter.
