The trade turnover of Kazakhstan with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the first half of 2015 amounted to only 7.8 billion dollars, which is 21% less than in the same period of 2014, the Statistics Committee of Ministry of National Economy of the republic provides this data.
Of the 7.8 billion dollars, exports of Kazakhstan amounted to 2.3 billion (down by 26.8%) and imports amounted to 5.5 billion dollars (down by 18.2%).
The main export items of the country are mineral products (about 50% of the total exports to the EAEU countries), chemical products (about 20%) and metals and products made of them (17%).
About a third of the imports of Kazakhstan from EAEU countries consist of machinery and equipment, mineral products (15%), metals and products made of them (15%) and chemical products (14%), Interfax reports.
