Employees of the Department of Regional Development and Infrastructure of roads of Georgia have restored traffic on the motorway section Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars, linking the republic with Russia, after yesterday’s avalanches.
"After removing the avalanche danger, the cleaning work continued on a 12-kilometer stretch of the Mljet- Gudauri Road all Saturday night, where the day before several avalanches took place," Interfax quotes a representative of the office.
"At present, traffic in this area has been restored, but at the Gudauri-Kobi section (Cross Pass) the threat of avalanches still remains, which does not allow equipment to enter,’’ the department added.
