US President Donald Trump tore into Attorney General Jeff Sessions in a tweet today, blaming him for the ongoing federal probe into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.
"The Russian Witch Hunt Hoax continues, all because Jeff Sessions didn’t tell me he was going to recuse himself...I would have quickly picked someone else," Trump wrote on Twitter.
"So much time and money wasted, so many lives ruined...and Sessions knew better than most that there was No Collusion!" he concluded.
Sessions, who was the first sitting U.S. senator to endorse Trump during the campaign, recused himself from the Russia probe last year, citing his contacts with Moscow’s U.S. envoy during the 2016 campaign, the Hill recalls.
