German Chancellor Angela Merkel has spoken with US President Donald Trump about the situation in Syria and Russia's newly announced weapons systems.
The two leaders are “concerned about Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent remarks on arms development and its negative impact on international arms control efforts," Merkel's said.
Trump and Merkel also spoke about Syria, and agreed that a UN Security Council resolution calling for a 30-day cease-fire in Syria must be implemented immediately, NBC News reported.
