Trump extends anti-Russia sanctions for one year

U.S President Donald Trump has prolonged sanctions for one year on Russia imposed in March, 2014 over Crimea.

"The actions and policies addressed in these Executive Orders continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States," the U.S. president noted in a statement posted on the White House website.

"Therefore, I am continuing for 1 year the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13660," the document reads.

The order 13660 was signed on March 6, 2014, by U.S. President Barack Obama. It was followed by several other orders.
