US President Donald Trump will undergo a physical examination early next year – and publish the results after being questioned over ‘slurred speech’, the White House promised.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders described questions about Trump’s speech as ‘ridiculous’, stating that his throat was ‘just dry’.
"There were a lot of questions on that. Frankly pretty ridiculous questions. The president’s throat was dry nothing more than that. He does have a physical scheduled for the first part of next year," Sanders said.
Questions have been raised around why Donald Trump slurred his speech during an address announcing the US would recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The change in the President's pronunciation seemed particularly to affect "s" and "th" sounds, and appeared to worsen in the closing stages of the address. It led viewers to suggest the President may have suffered a medical problem, the Independent reported.
