Turkish security forces have conducted a large-scale two-week operation, detaining 170 people linked to the ISIS (a terrorist organization banned in Russia), Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced.
"As a result of the anti-ISIS operation, 170 suspects have been detained in 32 provinces for providing financial assistance to the terrorist group and for previous activities within it",
Ali Yerlikaya said.
The operations were carried out across the country, including in the capital Ankara and Istanbul. A court has since ordered 10 of the detainees to be formally arrested.
