The grain deal must be resumed, the Turkish President said, noting that the leaders of the countries participating in the agreement must sign the document in Istanbul.
"We have discussed the Black Sea grain initiative with Mr. [Russian President Vladimir] Putin. We will follow the process. If we could bring both parties [Russia and Ukraine] together on this issue, then, I hope, we will take steps to [resume] the Black Sea initiative. We hope that we will be able to finalize this process in Istanbul at the Dolmabahçe Palace",
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said.
The Turkish President had previously stated this during negotiations with his Russian counterpart. Then it was also emphasized that Russian grain would not go to Western countries but to starving Africa.
Let us remind you that the agreement was terminated by the Russian side precisely because the grain was received by Western countries, and not by countries in need, including African ones.
