In the coming days the Turkish government will announce the details of the payment system, which could be an alternative to the Russian system "Mir", the Aydınlık newspaper writes, citing sources.
Earlier it became known that the Turkish state-owned banks Halkbank, Ziraat Bank and VakıfBank stopped accepting "Mir" cards.
"According to the information received by Aydınlık, the details of the payment system being worked on as an alternative to "Mir" will be announced in a day or two", the publication said.
It is noted that at present "tourists and merchants in the tourist regions (of Türkiye) are experiencing difficulties with payments", there are calls for the authorities to find a solution to this problem.
In recent days, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been discussing the situation with the "Mir" system with economic departments.
