The first meeting of the parliament speakers of Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan in a long time was held yesterday in Islamabad. The previous meeting in this format took place four years ago.

Relations between Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan are at their peak, Speaker of Turkey's Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş said during a trilateral meeting of parliament speakers in Islamabad on October 13.

He emphasized that the importance of inter-parliamentary dialogue among the three countries is particularly high given the challenges and threats they face, both regionally and on the international stage.

"Cooperation between our countries in military and defense spheres, including in the defense industry, will allow us to take more prompt measures to pre-empt threats, which will prevent the scope of problems from widening in the future," Numan Kurtulmuş said.

According to him, the meeting was effective.

"These three countries (Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan) have always supported each other. It is also necessary to develop relations between our countries at the parliamentary level," the speaker said.

The first meeting in this format was held in Baku in 2021.
