Turkey is considering creating safe zones in Syria between the cities of Aleppo, Idlib and the Turkish border with the inclusion of the border towns of Kobani, Jarabulus and others, depending on the population density in these areas.
The armed forces of Turkey have appealed to the government of the country to adopt such a decision, Trend reports.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu urged the UN to make a decision on the establishment of safe zones in Syria. The Turkish authorities are actively promoting the establishment of safe zones in northern Syria near its borders. The Syrian authorities, for their part, have repeatedly condemned this intention and said that Damascus strongly rejects the creation of buffer zones.
