Turkey expresses condolences over Armenia market blast

Turkey's special representative Serdar Kilic expressed his condolences in connection with Sunday’s explosion that took place at the Surmalu shopping market in Yerevan.

"I am deeply shocked by the news of a massive explosion at an open-air trading center in downtown Yerevan,” Kilic said on Twitter. "I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to all those injured in this tragedy."

According to data from the Armenian Emergencies Ministry, the death toll from the incident has risen to six people, with another 16 missing. More than 60 people have been taken to medical facilities in Yerevan, with 28 of them hospitalized.
