Turkey introduces visas for Libyans

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has announced today the termination of the visa-free regime with Libya, which lasted six years. According to Foreign Ministry spokesman Tanju Bilgich, from September 24th Libyan citizens will have to receive a visa in order to travel to Turkey.

Recall that in October last year, a special representative of the president and the government of Turkey, Emrullah Isler, held talks in Tripoli with Omar al-Hasi, Prime Minister of the pro-Islamic General National Congress, after which Ankara was accused of supporting Islamists by the official authorities in Tobruk. After this, relations between Turkey and Libya worsened.
