The Iranian company 'Mazandaran' (Mazandaran Science and Technology Park), which is engaged in scientific developments, has created an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for the examination of overhead transmission lines, Iranian news agency ISNA reports.
UAVs can be used for inspection of power transmission lines, it is able to photograph and videotape checked lines. Common UAVs cannot carry out flights near transmission lines due to strong electromagnetic fields, the director of the company Ali Motamezadegan said, adding that Turkey is already interested in the new UAV, Trend reports.
