Turkey plans to become a hub for gas supplies from Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and the Middle East, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the opening of the 23rd World Energy Congress in Istanbul.
“We’re currently constructing TANAP, which is the backbone of the Southern Gas Corridor. Through TAP, which is an extension of TANAP, Azerbaijani gas will reach European markets. We’re making big efforts for Turkmen gas to be exported through the Southern Gas Corridor,” APA cited Turkey’s president as saying.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum and Iran-Turkey gas lines are of Turkey’s successes in this area, he added.
With regard to the export of Russian gas, Turkey continues working on the Turkish Stream project, Erdogan stressed.
