Turkey's Ministry of National Defense has announced its readiness to participate in a peacekeeping mission in the Gaza Strip. Ankara is maintaining contacts with other parties involved in the peace process.

The ministry's spokesperson Zeki Aktürk said that Turkey is prepared to undertake tasks related to a peaceful settlement in Gaza as part of an international contingent.

"The Turkish Armed Forces, drawing on the experience gained from previous peacekeeping missions, are ready to carry out any task assigned to them to establish and maintain peace within the framework of international law," the Turkish Ministry of Defense said.

Aktürk added that Ankara continues its contacts with other participants in the Gaza peace process.

This follows the recent dispatch of Turkish volunteers to Gaza, who have begun clearing rubble and restoring infrastructure in the Palestinian enclave.

The U.S. began planning for an international contingent operation in Gaza in mid-October. Washington may involve military personnel from Azerbaijan, Indonesia, the UAE, Egypt, and Qatar.
