Turkey is committed to the project of the Russian gas pipeline ‘Turkish Stream’ and does not see any problems for its construction,Turkish Economy Minister, Nihat Zeybekchi, said during the talks with Russian Deputy Economic Development Minister, Alexei Likhachev, in Shanghai.
"We have no problems on this project. The period of conflict did not affect the Turkish Stream. Definitely, the negotiations on it will go on, we'll talk. Soon the energy ministers will also hold the talks ", Zeybekchi said after the meeting with Likhachev.
Also the two ministries will continue the negotiations on the lifting of the products’ embargo. "Six months ago we were on a very positive point. We started the negotiations on a free trade zone between Turkey and Russia. That means a lot. Now we continue with the same point at which we stopped ", Interfax quotes him as saying.
Yesterday the head of the Russian Ministry of Energy, Alexander Novak, said on the probability of the new arrangements for meetings of the co-chairs of the Russian-Turkish intergovernmental commission, as well as of ‘stage of consideration’, in which there is a resumption of the contacts with Turkey on the Turkish Stream.
Novak added that the timing of the meetings will be discussed further between the ministries.
