The operation to liberate the northern Syrian town of al-Bab from ISIS terrorists has been completed and Turkish troops are working to clear mines and explosives, the Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar said.
Akar said that the al-Bab Operation has been finished and explosive ordnance disposal teams are currently working to clear the region, Sabah reports.
The Turkish army has been supporting Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters in liberating al-Bab, a strategic city for ISIS, from the terrorist group. Turkey launched Operation Euphrates Shield on Aug. 24, 2016.
