Turkey's Republican People's Party to elect new leader

The opposition Republican People's Party of Turkey (CHP) will hold an extraordinary congress to elect a new leader.

The congress will be held within the next 45 days.

According to the Turkish media, some 625 party members have voted for implementation of the extraordinary congress.

A number of members of the CHP accused the party leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu of unsuccessful policy after the parliamentary and presidential election held in Turkey on June 24, and demanded him to leave the position in favor of the candidate of the Republican People's Party Muharrem Ince.

The early presidential and parliamentary election was held in Turkey on June 24. The current leader of the country Recep Tayyip Erdogan won the first round, winning 52.59% of the votes.
