Turkey's exports to eight countries reached a record high in May this year, the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM) reports.

According to the Assembly, the volume of Turkish exports in May 2022 increased by 15.2% to $18.9 bln compared to the same period in 2021, the Anadolu News Agency reports.

The growth trend of Turkish exports is largely due to the strategy of searching for alternative markets, which has already begun to bear fruit. Thus, Turkish exports broke the record in such countries as Senegal, Dominican Republic, North Macedonia, Rwanda, Tajikistan, Cameroon, Costa Rica and Montenegro.

The volume of Turkish exports to Senegal amounted to $87.2 mln, an increase by $57.2 mln compared with the same period last year, to the Dominican Republic - $71,2 mln (an increase of $61.4 mln), North Macedonia - $66.5 mln (an increase of $30.9 mln), Rwanda - $32.5 mln (an increase of $28.5 mln), Tajikistan - $31.5 mln  (an increase of $13.6 mln), Cameroon - $30.8 mln (an increase of $20.9 mln), Costa Rica - $28.4 mln (an increase of $22.7 6 mln) and Montenegro - $28.2 mln.
