Turkey plans to build six submarines in order to strengthen its defense power, the country’s Defense Ministry said.
According to the ministry, the initial cost of the project is estimated at $2.7 billion.
The submarines will be built at the Gölcük Naval Shipyard in Izmir province in northwestern Turkey.
