Turkey is preparing to file a complaint against Russia's economic sanctions to the World Trade Organization and other international courts, the Economy Minister of Turkey, Mustafa Elitash, said yesterday. The Minister argues that in small cities across Russia Turkish companies are being pressured to transfer their shares to their Russian partners.
"Trade needs to have a moral basis. These entrepreneurs have put their trust in the Russian government and invested in the country. We will reclaim the rights of all those who have suffered in international courts," Elitash told Daily Sabah, noting that Turkey is collecting evidence.
The Russian President has signed a decree on measures to ensure Russia’s national security and to protect its citizens from criminal and other illegal activities and to impose special economic measures against Turkey on November 28.
