Turkey won't punish its entrepreneurs for cooperating with Crimea

Turkey will not impose sanctions against members of the financial community who develop or plan to build their businesses in Crimea, Russian Ambassador to Ankara Andrei Karlov stated.

The diplomat said that he knows about the political position of Turkey's top leadership, but he reminded that Turkey did not join in with the EU sanctions against Russia, even though it did not recognize the peninsula as having joined Russia. Therefore, he does not see any obstacles to economic relations of Turkish businessmen with Crimea.

Karlov added that at a Russian-Turkish roundtable held in the framework of the B20 Forum, Turkish businessmen expressed their desire to increase the economic presence of their businesses in the new Russian territories, RIA Novosti reported.
