Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) has decided to convene an extraordinary congress on May 21 immediately after the announcement of the results of the April 16 constitutional referendum, the party's press service said.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to be elected AKP chairman during the congress.
The last congress of the party was held on May 22, 2016, where Binali Yıldırım was elected the chairman.
