Turkish Airlines cancels flights to Iraq due to Mosul operation

Turkish Airlines canceled its flights to Arbil and Baghdad on October 17 due to the US-led military operation to retake Mosul from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Doğan News Agency reports.

The flagship carrier’s scheduled flights from Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport to Arbil at 6:15 pm and Baghdad at 5:35 pm were mutually canceled due to the Mosul operation against ISIL, which was launched early on October 17.

The airline said passengers to both destinations will be sent via other flights at night.
