Türkiye's largest airline, Turkish Airlines, plans to purchase 225 Boeing aircraft over the next ten years, according to the Turkish public information website.
"In line with our growth goals, our board of directors has decided to purchase a total of 75 B787-9 and B787-10 aircraft from Boeing",
Turkish Airlines reported.
The order includes 50 firm purchases and 25 options, with deliveries scheduled between 2029 and 2034. Turkish Airlines is also currently in talks with suppliers of engines, spare engines, and maintenance services.
The airline has additionally reached an agreement with Boeing for 150 737-8/10 MAX aircraft, two-thirds of which are firm orders and the remainder options. Placement of these orders will depend on the outcome of negotiations with the engine manufacturer.
Turkish Airlines stated that through these contracts, the carrier intends to transition 100 percent of its fleet to new-generation aircraft by 2035.
