Turkish first floating solar power plant begins operation

The Turkish first water-based solar power plant (SPP) will begin operating soon in Eastern Anatolia, Elazığ Province.

The capacity of the floating solar power plant will be 1 MW. SPP "Kuzova" is installed on the Keban Dam Lake, not far from a ground-based power plant with a capacity of 2 MW. Together, these green energy facilities will be able to provide electricity for the irrigation system for 4.7 thousand hectares of land in the surrounding villages.

In the future, another, more powerful 3 MW SPP on water will be built in this area.
