Turkish jets hit PKK in N Iraq

Turkey pounded shelters of PKK’s ringleaders in northern Iraq's Mount Qandil in an air operation on early on March 30, according to a statement from Turkish Defense Ministry, Hurriyet Daily News reported.

The statement said Turkish fighter jets also hit “PKK terrorists in Hakurk and Avaşin-Basyan areas, who were in preparation of attacking Turkey's border troops.     

PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU. It has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including many women and children.
