From January 2022 up to the present, the Turkish army has destroyed 2,517 terrorists in northern Iraq and Syria. This was stated by Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar.
He noted that 333 members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were neutralized in the zone of the ongoing counter-terrorist operation "Claw-Lock" in three northern regions of Iraq.
According to the Defenсe Minister, the fight against terrorists continues according to the plans.
He also drew attention to the fact that Turkey respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries in the region, and the army's efforts are focused solely on combating Turkey's security challenges. "Any point where terrorists operate is a legitimate target for our army. We are aimed at complete elimination of the terrorism threat, which has been on the Turkish agenda for the past 40 years," Anadolu quoted Akar as saying.
