The Turkish parliament's General Assembly accepted the fourth article, proposed by the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), local media reports.
The article dictates that the presidential elections and general elections be held together and the elections be held every five years.
The article was voted in favor by 343 deputies out of 486, with 139 against it, the Daily Sabah reports.
