Turkish parliament submits constitution reform bill to Erdogan

A bill to change the Turkish constitution has been formally presented to the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a procedural step that will pave the way for an April referendum.

The Constitutional Amendment Draft, which has 18 articles, was signed by the Parliamentary Deputy Speaker Ahmet Aydin, Hurriyet reports.

Erdogan has 15 days to assess the draft. Once Erdogan approves the bill, which is he is widely expected to do, the referendum will then likely be held on a Sunday in early April.
